The new Omnia-powered intranet will help the company modernize its digital workplace, ensuring that it meets both current and future needs for years to come.
“With Omnia, we have a flexible, robust, and future-oriented employee engagement platform. While our previous intranet was overly complex and technically limiting, Omnia is easy to use, adapt, and integrate with new applications and services. Now we can modernize our digital workplace to meet the demanding needs of our employees today and tomorrow,” says Darko Jaksic, Chief Intranet & Collaboration Governance at Finastra.
Before adopting Omnia, Finastra’s previous intranet platform lacked the flexibility needed to integrate new features and services, especially Microsoft 365. The company’s main goal was to create a seamless, unified collaboration environment. “When planning our future digital workplace, we conducted thorough market research and reviewed all top-rated platforms, including Omnia.
Offering nearly all the functionality we were looking for, Omnia stood out from the rest. No other platform compared in terms of complete functionality,” Darko explains. “We expect to add more functions as we move forward, and with Omnia, that’s easy to do. Its flexible architecture and customer-focused development roadmap convinced us it was the right choice.”
The new intranet was launched in under six months, meeting a critical deadline due to the pandemic. “We had a very strict deadline. Our new intranet had to be launched by December 1st, or we would face additional licensing costs for another year,” Darko explains.
The migration of a large volume of content presented additional challenges, but meticulous planning ensured the deadline was met. “We took the time to get key stakeholders on board and thoroughly analyze our needs. This solid preparation was essential for ensuring a smooth and timely implementation,” he adds.
The primary objectives for the new intranet were to enable ongoing modernization without restrictions and to integrate Microsoft 365 for seamless collaboration. The Omnia-powered platform now serves as a gateway to collaboration tools, company news, and other internal resources, ensuring employees have everything they need to manage their tasks efficiently.
“Integrating Omnia with Microsoft 365 was effortless. Employees instantly appreciated the seamless login process. With the integration, they are now automatically logged into the intranet, which wasn’t possible before. They also welcomed the platform’s fresh and inviting layout, improved notifications, and much better search functionality,” Darko highlights.
Looking to the Future The transition to Omnia has already enhanced communication and collaboration across Finastra’s global workforce. The company plans to continue evolving its intranet with future updates, ensuring it remains aligned with both current and future needs.
Omnia’s flexibility and scalability have set the stage for a modern, user-friendly digital workplace that drives employee engagement and supports Finastra’s continued growth and success.
