Catalyst Housing and drives productivity with new intranet
Catalyst Housing, a leading UK housing association, has successfully implemented an Omnia-based intranet to enhance internal communications, streamline operations, and improve accessibility across its workforce.
The new platform, “The Hive,” has boosted findability, productivity, and mobility by centralizing business-critical resources and documents in a single location. “Our Omnia-based intranet has radically improved our productivity. It’s now much easier to find relevant and accurate information, and having everything in one place eliminates the risk of outdated or duplicated content,” says Parveen Agnihotri, Internal Communications Manager.
The new platform has also played a key role in uniting Catalyst with Aldwyck Housing Group following their 2019 merger.
A seamless merger and enhanced accessibility
Before the merger, Catalyst’s outdated SharePoint-based intranet was inefficient and required significant IT resources. The merger highlighted the need for a flexible, cloud-based intranet to consolidate internal information and streamline collaboration. Omnia stood out for its ease of use and seamless integration with Microsoft 365.
A timely launch that supported remote work Implemented by Omnia’s UK-based partner CPS, the intranet was launched just before the pandemic forced the shift to remote work. The platform proved invaluable during this period, helping maintain organizational productivity by offering easy access to essential documents, policies, and procedures, thus boosting efficiency across the board.
Optimized for mobility and future growth
The new intranet integrates Catalyst’s Document Management System built on SharePoint Online, ensuring all documents are accessible and shareable through the intranet. Catalyst also invested in a revamped information and navigation structure, improving findability and accessibility.
Employees now benefit from a modern, mobile-friendly platform, providing seamless access to resources on any device. “Users love the straightforward navigation, modern layout, and the increased ease of access.
